all carnatic vocalists today..

T.N Seshagopalan (TNS)
Album:-Live at the Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai

Sudha Raghunathan
Album:-Andal Thiruppavai
tiruppavai is tamil poem written by saint andal and mainly deals with her love and devotion for lord krishna. it is read/sung every day in the month of december in vaishnavite temples across the south. these verses have been put to music, the beauty being that each is set to a different ragam...30 verses set in 30 different ragams..a nice window into carnatic music. lot of these verses are sometimes sung separately, or as main pieces for ragam explorations and elaborations in concerts.

Sanjay Subramanium
Album:-Tillai:Compositions of Gopalakrishna Bharathi
gopalakrishna bharathi lived during the early nineteenth century. he wrote numerous poems and lyrics set to tune in carnatic music. lot of it was based on the nataraja temple at chidambaram, his favorite deity being nataraja. tillai [or thillai] is another name for chidambaram

still cant get off of the 'The Bourne Supremacy' soundtrack.. standout tracks in this CD so far include 'Goa', 'Nach Duetschland' and the one by Moby.

the next to come up for today:

Saving Private Ryan
Jerry Goldsmith
hym to the fallen [reprise] is a powerful and sombre track~ everytime i listen to this soundtrack, it takes me to a war zone, powerful imagery of the destruction and casualities..the track 'The Last Battle' hits the consience hard. have to temper this with some happy/fast music..

Run Lola Run
Tykwer/Klimek/Heil

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Tan Dan & Yo-Yo-Ma
