Carnatic--like Nick says, a stand alone reason for living in Madras.--Abdel Gadir Salim, Abdel Gadir Ei Mubarak, Aki Nawaz, Black Star Liner, Everyone must listen to Bob Marley, Bonnie Prince Billy, Calexico, Cat Power, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. In 200 years "The Dirty Three", will be the classical music of choice

Oops missed it in my search before I started the new thread.

Pearl Jam - Backspacer

New album after ages, and its quite raw, though have to admit it sounds an awful lot like into the wild, Eddie seems to have got into a different voice all together, but its aggressive and punk at the same time . . . worth checking out!

the fixer is the first single . . .

But johnny guitar is my favorite so far

Been listening to a lot of great and varied artists across genres since morning. Right now it's Eric Clapton playing and George Harrison singing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" (the live in Japan version).
