Yogagal and fromusawithluv there's another western take on it by Donna De Lory, her CD is called 'The lover and the Beloved'. There are other beautiful and quite well known chants on this one including Govinda Jaya Jay (which brings back so many memories for me from the Satsangas in the ashrams) and Hare Krishna. Check it out guys. Love to you both
I think I have heard of the Chants of India... Both are awesome artists!

Will have to look up The lover and the Beloved. I really love Hare Krishna chanting!!!

Right now listening to Chinmaya Dunster's Sacred Temples of India. GORGEOUS...mostly instrumental, very very soothing (u can just dive into it and become its soul). Each track has a story behind it. Here's an example:

(i esp. love track 7 - KONARK) "I like to think of this awe inspiring ruin as it was a couple of hundred years ago, before the spreading dunes cut it off from the ocean: right on the sands at the surf's edge, its form a huge chariot for the sun god emerging as the rising sun out of the Bay of Bengal.
I love these empty Indian beaches away from the tourist crowds: the slender-hulled fishing boats hauled up out of reach of the waves; the myriad immaculate, whorled seashells lying unheeded in the sand. There for a moment I can forget the milling multitudes and their poverty, and for a little while see India as vast and empty as it once was - and as the trackless oceans of our Earth are still. Then the music that comes into my head takes on a timeless quality, breathing unhurried like the sea tides, and I remember that there is nowhere I need go: I am always right where I need to be."

I love that chant!!! Your students must be so much at peace right from the start till the end

It would be a nice addition to listen to the chanting during shavasana. I begin and end with that chanting .
