Post This season's books

Well, hey for my hundreth post, why not have a little taste of the scene here this season.

You know the score - every time you come, there's a bunch of books that everyone's reading and saying ("oh, but you MUST read...... it's fantastic....")

So, here you go - the books that everyone's been on about to me are:

In at number one...

"The life of Pi"

A close second...

"The dice man"

As always

"Midnight's children" and "the moor's last sigh"

On the more existential front...

"The new inquisition", and "The elegant universe"

any more for any more? actually i'm sure i'm missing some of the more recommended books - i'm feeling a little blurred today - help me out somebody!

Hi IndyBoy,

Just finished "The Life of Pi" yesterday and really enjoyed it. Lots of different moods in that book. Surprising and a bit absurd.

"The Moor's Last Sigh", damn, I just can't get myself to finish that one, even though I've read it past halfway. I do prefer "The Satanic Verses" over this Rushdie read.

Somebody on this site recommended "Siddhartha" by Hermann Hesse and now I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone interested in wandering, spiritual journeys, searches, and the like.

Just ordered "Be Here Now" by Ram Dass, I'm absolutely sure that more than one person on this site has read that one. I haven't read it yet...

Good readings to everyone...

The Life of Pi was entertaining but a little full of its own cleverness.
I must admit that I've had several goes at Rushdies' books but I never get through them - he drives me nuts!
I don't suppose you can ever go wrong with 'Are You Experienced?' - makes me laugh everytime I read it.
