The Spiritual Tourist
Has anyone here read "The Spiritual Tourist" by Mick Brown? I bought it at the airport before my arrival in India, and it makes excellent travel reading.
The book is a humorous, incisive and informative piece of pseudo-journalism on all those people who are searching for that mystical, transcendental "something" out there. The author travels in the US, Europe and mainly India tracking down various mystical phenomena, religious groups and cults - just to figure out what it's all about. At times Brown pokes fun at people on the "spiritual journey", but it's not done with cynicism or condescension. In fact, his openness to and curiosity of all things mystical shines through the text. Two thumbs up! |

Haven't seen that one. I did read ON GLORY ROADS - A Pilgrim's Book about Pilgrimages by Eleanor Munro and found it interesting.
