Nice ad

You might also like the Coke ads which are in the same vein. This ad campaign featuring Amir Khan also won significant awards this year.

Here is a website where you can download an excerpt of the music, or buy the single which came out in the UK after the success of the ad. You can alos get the ad but I've not tried on my rural shared dial-up connection.

It hit the music charts but I don't know where it got to. The band is called the Bhangra Knights which I think is a play on the old comedy band from the 70s the Barron Knights.

That's great!

Speaking of commercials does anyone remember one for a clothes washing machine that was filmed in Varanasi. I have only seen it once where everyone was on the ghats admiring this new fangled machine. All the admirers spent time checking out the features of it, twisting the knobs and the sheer quality of the clothes washer.

At the end all the women starting beating their clothes against the outside of the machine (like beating them on stones) and thought this new machine was great.

The ad is being played here in Australia (maybe only in cinamas?). I giggled myself silly when I saw it!

Saw the Peugeot ad at a cinema in Auckland and cracked up laughing. I remember the Varanasi washing machine one too but can't remember if it was actually played on TV in NZ or if it was on one of those 'world's funniest commercial' type programmes.
