The Namesake - the movie!

The book was great, and hopefully the movie will be worthy (and include plenty of India footage).

Mrs. Arun threw in her two cents about the trailer here.

I so want to read the book. I hear that Kal Penn, the dude from Harold & Kumar, Van Wilder, etc is in the film. It sounds so interesting, and just want to read, see more media on "ABCD's".

I say it's best to check out the IMDb. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433416/ And then to check out "Release Dates"

Has anybody seen this yet? I hear it was out on selected cinemas but fully released early next year. I've read the book and absolutely loved it. Now I crave for the movie.

Namesake starts 23 March here in Santa Cruz, California. Usually we get these a week or three behind major city markets. It's playing the arthouse circuit.

I saw The Namesake a couple of weeks ago. Coincidentally, I had just finished the book a couple of days earlier. I liked it, it was beautiful movie, even though not the best movie ever. I wonder how it appeared to those who had not read the book which spans three decades or so...?

Out in NY today. Will definitely try to catch it this weekend or next. Got great reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
