The Darjeeling Limited
A movie, coming out this fall from Wes Anderson. Can't say it looks amazing, but the shots of the train and the countryside are pretty.
Seems to be a VERY sparsely attended line, though! Apple - Trailers - The Darjeeling Limited - Trailer B Last edited by machadinha : Mar 13th, 2008 at 15:05. Reason: threads merged |

The Darjeeling Limited
A combination of two of my favorite things: Wes Anderson and India.

as per imdb
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0838221/releaseinfo no date allocated. I suspect that a film about spoilt middleclass Americans coming to India to 'find' themselves and each other will not 'play' India. |

I agree with Casey, Wes Anderson makes great films. Comedy on the outside, deep and heartwrenching on the inside. I'm sold, based on my respect for his work, and hoping the preview doesn't do the movie justice.

Sorry for the double post.
I think that trailers are often like bookjackets. They don't always reflect the contents and are beyond the control of the people who actually made the work. I have always enjoyed his work and hope that this film is as good as some of his other work. I am kind surprised it will be screened in India, although I guess he isn't really the low budget director he once was. |

I am very eager to see this movie, and am a big fan of Wes Anderson, as well as Indian travel of course.

opening in nyc 9/29
this film opens in new york next weekend. i can't say the initial reviews and the trailer make me want to race to the ticket line (actually, they make one want to run from the ticket line) , but i will likely see it anyway for the train scenes and views of rajasthan, which i've not yet visited.
and, of course, there's the very worthy adrian brody. ![]()

The Darjeeling Limited - film
The film, DARJEELING LIMITED will be opening the New York Film Festival at the end of this month. Has anyone seen the movie? Am very interested in a critique of the film. Especially of the authenticity of the Darjeeling area rail, and other IR scenes.
Thank you.
