One big book is New Light on Hampi Eds. John Fritz and George Michell, photographs by Clare Arni.

Other smaller books are

Vijayanagar by Burton Stein
Hampi Ruins Described and Illustrated by AH Longhurst, and
Vijayanagar Ed. Vasundhara Filliozat.

I'm afraid that the name of the really big book with detailed architectural drawings escapes me, but you will find it in the bookshop at Hotel Malligi. For some illustrations check out George Michell's web pages on the Vijayanagara Mapping Project.

there's an e version of the book A Forgotten Empire: Vijayanagar by Robert Sewell on http://manybooks.net/titles/sewellroetext02fevch10.html and on some other sites if you google. Haven't read it myself though.

I've just downloaded the pdf version. Also I already bought the book on Hampi by Longhurst.

Hi,

As Apana said, the best one is the one from George Michel and co. I bought last week the small one with explanations and pics because the other was too big for travelling with, in Hotel Malligi they have plenty of interesting books about Hampi, and the best in my opinion is the big one from this people.
