tera suroor
can anyone help me translate this himesh reshammiya song to english? i have tried using online hindi/english dictionaries and cannot seem to find any words... is he singing in hindi?

tera suroor
huzoor means Lord or milord.
Here a man is singing... so he says "my lady or my ladyship" suroor means infatuation amounting to obsession. Here a male is obsessed by a lady. Here the speciality is : To translate a poem into another poem; which is a proper poem by the new language itself... while retaining the flavour of the original as much as possible. I have done this one in 25 mins, that too coz my typing speed is "one finger" style. If I listen to the song AND put some thought into it, can come up with a proper singable song in English. I have read translations by other "translators". Apart from a few exceptional ones, the poetry gets murdered.... or even worse... sounds like incoherent prose. |

one question, why did i have such a hard time translating? is it because of different forms of root word, like tenses, or is it too modern or slang, or maybe spelling problems, or not in hindi? i am curious why i could not find any of the words in the online dictionaries. |
