Barring unforeseen circumstances, force majeure etc. consider it done. Just give me a reminder around 10th Jan.

Great!

Maybe the tabla guy could put him in touch with a sitar guy?

A follow up on all the tabla convo & a Mumbai connection - Nick and Avid Trekker & Aishah.. just out of interest..

When we returned from India Oscar was hanging in the Billy Hyde drum shop playing the electronic drum kit & hanging out with the guys - which he does quite frequently, its one of those great professional drum places where they run classes and showcases and encourage the kids to go in there ..

Anyway - turns out one of the guys there is a tabla player and has studied for years under a teacher in Mumbai called Pandit Ram Chandra Suman... His father (back in the US - Atlanta) is a guy called Jerry Fields who is also a well known tabla player and percussionist.

Oscar is thinking of having some more lessons from Chris when he has more time later in the year - the lessons he had in India made him realise what a discipline Indian music is.. I think he's realised its something you need to approach in a really focussed way. I'm sure he'll come back to it when he's finished exploring heavy netal and funk which he's into at the moment (just bought himself double kick pedals!).
