Taare Zameem Par

Taare Zameem Par - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0986264/

Its been a long time that a critically acclaimed, socially relevant movie has struck a cord with masses and classes both.

Even though it might not be the finest example of movie making, however hats to Aamir Khan Sahib (He has earned the Sahib bit now !!). Being a Star as big as him, second to None and as big as SRK himself, who could have producers willing to shell out anything, directors to compromise everything, he decided to work on a offbeat, low budget and socially responsible film in which he plays the second fiddle to the Child Artist. And what a Job he did.

I am sure that many members would have watched it, and if you have not watched this one yet, just go check it o9ut !!

I've seen it and enjoyed it. I give it 7 out of 10. It is a well-made movie, but a bit preachy for my liking.

good music. and great theme. tough to really convey the concept or message though - i mean unless you yourself have a close relative or child who is either dyslexic or autistic or has some special ability, it's really quite surreal to try to imagine the challenges of everyday life - both from the individual's point of view and especially from the perspective of the parents or family members... yes, hats off to aamir - i really thought rang de basanti was very worthy as well. mangal pandey was the only movie of his in recent times which had me saying "what was he thinking"!!!

After quite a few years, I thought I would see this Hindi movie.

The hype on TV etc is putting me off a bit, though.

Liked the movie. Especially Darsheel Safary the child lead actor. The theme of the movie is unique. Must watch I would say.

Even though I was an average student (60-70% Category), however I can still relate the problem. Because I can remember the faces of my classmates who were not good in studies and were subject of constant ridicule..After seeing this movie, I can actually understand how bad or heart broken they must have felt..

What a movie... A Must watch movie. Wow, I like the acting of Aamir Khan. His all movies are so good.. Rang De Basanti, Sarforosh, Dil Chahta Hai and now Taare Jameen Par.

The movie has such a lovely message.

"Understand you child before taking a strict decision."

My younger sister who lacks in learning memory could not study more. She has just completed her schooling (at an age of 24). My parents were definitely been a great support to her. After seeing this movie, I believe most of the parents whose one child is less intelligent than others will now be able to enjoy & get more support.

Saw it yesterday. Thought it would be better.

Could find worse ways of spending a couple of hours, I guess.

i didn't think i'd watch it because of all the hype.. but i went to give my mom company.. and ended up enjoying the movie. the ending was rather bollywoodish but overall it was a very good movie, commendable efforts by Aamir Khan.

by the way someone sent me a link to aamir's blog, i browsed through it, it's quite simple in design, and in his latest post, he had Darsheel the child actor write something to the fans. If you'd like to check it: http://www.aamirkhan.com/
He has like 1800 replies to every post he makes and he claims to read all of them too!!

Slightly offtopic, but soon after the movie was released, the Indian stockmarket index crashed.

Apparently there were a lot of SMS's going around, saying, Saare Zameen Par, meaning everybody has fallen down.
