A tape I bought in Pushkar by Deep Forest (which one I'm not sure??? - sorry boxed up ready for emigration!) I think the music is Bolivian (correct me if I'm wrong) but is suitably exotic sounding and makes me think of Rajasthan.

Since I'm now a Non Resident Indian I guess I could also post in this thread...if there is one song that reminds me of India then its a song called "Punjab" by Karunesh....its on one of the Buddha Bar compilations.....dont remember which volume.....you guys should check the song out...its got a haunting melody......and hey maree...we seem to have similiar taste in music...check out joi, Talvin Singh, Karunesh, Jai Uttal also if you like Nitin Sawhney and the likes then you are sure to flip for these as well....and hey have you heard Nitin Sawhney's latest album...theres a flute number in that I think its track 8...thats an awesome one and it also reminds me of India...esp smoking dope and going by bus to goa from bangalore....awesome "trip"...pun intended...

Hi all, relatively new to the forums so sorry for opening up an old forum topic.
I'll be arriving in India for the first time at the end of next month and have recorded all my Beatles albums onto MDs. It something I'm really looking forward to doing-listening to J, P, G and R while in their second home!
