You seem to be sure Gandhi was a success, Gandhi and many Indian people may disagree.

Why Not! There is so much material in his life and thus so many angles/views with which you could use. On the other hand, it would be pretty hard to top the last epic effort. I think I read somewhere that the only glaring factual error in the 1982 movie was the inclusion of some Ambassador autos in the 1940's Calcutta riot scenes.

Even though India is changing slowly, today it would take much more of an effort & much more costly to keep the scenes factual in a remake. Of course present day computer animation technology might take some of the 'organization worries' out of the funeral & riot shoots.

I agree. But the real Gandhi will be hard to locate in current western world

So i will settle for a movie And i think Michael Moore should direct that movie!

Yes peak good technical analysis but what if Michael Moore do it? He will spin the truth and make it shine. Even without technology.

Rajmohan Gandhi will be speaking on "The Gandhi You May Not Know" near me soon. he said he will speculate on what his grandfather might recommend on today's issues.

will be interesting I'm sure

Just a thought, do you think Gandhi would be happy with modern India?

Movie? I think the epic classic would be hard to top..

The motive

A remake will implant an old idea of peACE IN A NEW FORM. This idea WILL INNOVATE ITSELF AND PROSPOR.

The question is do we need Gandhi. not will it beat the classic movie.

How could he ever even begin to be happy with such unprincipled government and corruption.

Why should there be technical problems ? Period movies are made all the time and many movies are their in India cinema where Gandhi is shown as a character albeit not the main one..
