I just finished "Losing Gemma" by Katy Gardner about two lasses travelling in India. One goes a bit weird and the other one is a bit crazy anyway. They travel around to various places and end up in Himachal Pradesh. I shouldn't say any more other than I think the plot is relatively predictable but having said that it was a very enjoyable read and would perhaps appeal to fellow Indiaphiles.

I'd give it 3 rab stars out of 5. If you're too tight to buy it it's definitely worth borrowing from your local library!

One non-fiction: "No full stops in India" by Mark Tully. Really interesting essays about modern indians, the aftereffects of colonization and spans religion, family, beaurocracy.
One fiction "What the body remembers" by Shauna Singh Baldwin ( I think). Incredible writing about women and their interdependance and interrelationships around the time of Partition.
I, too, love Rohinton Mistry.
