Agree with Lagaan, or Dil Chahta Hai.
And isn't there a long, sad history of old-looking Aamir Khan being cast in an obviously very young role? I always think he looks way too old... I remember one where he looked about the same age as the guy playing his father. Needs a better makeup artist, or a better agent. |

No comments from me...the movie does not deserve any.

I actually liked a lot of things about this movie, but was disturbed about some of the violent parts in the second half. I want to avoid spoilers, but what I objected to most was what happened between Siddarth's character and his father.
I agree that Aamir looked too old for the part he played, but I thought his acting and everyone else's was quite good. I could have done without the awful rock music soundtrack, but I'm also and old fogey, so for all I know it suited the film. I did think the second half was too violent and wasn't comfortable with the message I felt it sent. However, I do think it was a good film and I liked the fact that it seemed to provoke discussion about things that I admittedy know little about. |

You put your slight criticism so much more eloquently then me, not comfortable with the messages, that was what I would have liked to say.
specifically, for me the message came across like: spoiled angry young males, have license for every folly including violence just by merit of their own strong emotions, which is of course a very foolish proposition, and therefore a foolish film it was, I thought. lovable Amir Khan movies: Quayamat se quayamat tak, agree totally, Hum hai Rahi Pyaar Ka, and Raja Hindustani also in parts. |

I had a good time watching it, but I wasn't moved by it. Lagaan, Black or Swades, I thought, did a better job at being serious and entertaining at the same time.
