Rajasthani Ram-Sita Ramayan tape

Greetings all! I'm hoping this is the right place to post this query. About 4-5 years ago my husband and I were in Rajasthan and in a small village outside of Jodhpur we heard a tape (current, I believe, not an old traditional bhajan/kirtan) that told the Ramayan in (as I remember) 2 complete audio tapes. The woman who lived across the way from us would play it to her cows (with speakers, so the whole village heard it!) when she milked them each morning at 4 a.m. so it went in deep for us...probably helped the cows too...they gave lots of milk, anyway

The refrain was "Ram SiyaRam, SiyaRam, Jai Jai Ram. Then another verse of the tale, then the refrain again. It was hauntingly beautiful, but we didn't get the name of the artist at the time. Not sure if it was sung in Marwari, Hindi or Sanskrit. We later heard it again at an acquaintance's (local Rajput) home in Jodhpur, but did not hear it outside of Rajasthan anywhere else. From my recollection, it was a male singing the verses, with a chorus singing the refrain.
Not much to go on, I know, but it seemed to be popular then and there, so I'm hoping this will ring a bell with someone? If anyone has any ideas I can listen online to any UTUBE or some such to see if it's the right version.
Many thanks in advance for all leads

Also, Mods, please let me know if this request is better posted in the Spirituality forum; thanks!

i know what you are talking about. There must be multiple versions of the same in market, however I do remember having on my computer.

I used to load them on my mp3 player and listen to them over long drives. Lemme see if I can find em for you.

Shashank,
Thank you SO much for the speedy reply! I'm not a member to the site that you gave links for, so I have to register there in order to listen to see if it is what I was referring to; I sure hope so! They offer free memberships (up to a certain number each day) and by the time I woke up and checked my mail today (in U.S.) they were already over the limit. so I will try again later.

BTW, my husband and I love your avatar..it makes us grin everytime we see it...
will let you know after listen to the streams on the links

rather than trying to listen to those online on that side, you can use the inlay cars posted there to look for more information on the internet.

As I have said, there are multiple versions of the same, and in India they would be very easily available outside any major temple.

Shashank,

I wasn't able to get into the links you provided but I was inspired by them to search further and I found it!!!
listen as per below:
http://videos.bhaktisangeet.com/view...--good-quality

This is the version that we had heard and loved...now, if you have any suggestion of how we might locate the full version of the Ramayan sung by this artist (either for download or purchase) then we would be most appreciative. We are not able to tell from this clip what is the artist's name? Who might have produced the tapes? Yikes! Still lots of questions, but at least we located the version...UTUBE is so helpful!
thanks for any further advice

but we speak better Hindi (with a little Sanskrit) than we can read Devanagri please advise...

This is Ramayana for sure. I am not sure if its Sanskrit or some other language.

The description of the video says its from "Geet Gata Chal".

The one I had was in Hindi, it was around 60 minutes and had entire story of Ramayan in it. The music, tone, chorus all remains the same.

The singer might be Ravindra Jain, not sure though.

Language of "mangal hari bhajan " is Avadhi . Most( or may be all) of the dohas are from Ram charit manas by Tulsidas.

You can hear alternate version here

I have full version in Hindi .There are many versions of this song by different artist. Originally this song (from the movie) consisted of few chopaiyas only . Later on T series stared selling full version (different lyrics, different singer ,same music).

If you want i can upload it.
