New LP World Food India Guide
I just got the new LP World Food Guide for India and I have to say, it's pretty good. I have been reading through it for the last day and actually learned quite a bit about Indian Cooking and the variations from region to region. It is not a cookbook but does have some recipes (doubtful anyone is going to cook up Hyderabadi Biryani at home) and is written mostly in the first person point of view like the old versions of LP used to be. For anyone interested in learning about the food of India or learning about the kind of pan that they chewed while they were there I would recommend it.
Unlike the City Guides that LP does, which are basically just chapters taken out of the main guide book, this book makes no reference to the big book and is an entity on it's own. Amazon has it in stock now and it's a good value for the money. Lonely Planet World Food India Mike |
