I did use to work in an indian film shop when I was in college.. I blame my dad, he always wanted to run away and become a hero in asian films...films are such a personal choice, it depends on what genre you like. I liked both "Rising: Ballad Of Mangal Pandey" and "Fanaa". But the again I love old 70's movies. What I would recommend is maybe buy a few cheapy ones of off ebay and getting a feel for what you like. Or let us know what sort of english films you like and maybe people here can recommend suitable indian counterparts.

www.ultraindia.com www.erosentertainment.com www.sonybmg.co.in for a modern indian film, you could try and get hold of 'dil chahta hai'. and for a good old b&w film, try 'anari' (both commercial films but worlds apart). |
