It depends what sort of Bollywood music you favor.

Clubby techno-ish stuff from recent movies? The classic Asha Bhosle vibe? In between?

I'm a sucker for the Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge soundtrack, and also Dil Se. Dhoom is a little more danceable. I also recently picked up the soundtrack to The Darjeeling Limited, which is not a Bollywood movie at all (and which I don't actually recommend, as a film), but which is full of title themes to old Satyajit Ray and Merchant Ivory movies from the 60's. I would also guess you could easily pick up "Best of Asha Bhosle" or something to that effect, too. A few Western companies also put out "Bollywood 101" and "Intro to Bangra" type albums which might provide a good mix.

Hit your local Indian grocery store! They are bound to have lots to choose from. If your looking soundtrack, I'd say right now I'm really happy with all of Om Shanti Om, most of Bunty aur Babli, half of Ashoka, most of Kahbi Kushi Kahbi Gham, and one or two off many, Dhoom and Dhoom2, Don, Heyy Babyy only has two good songs, but they are good, Jab we Met has a couple of good ones too. Dil Se has one of the biggest hits of the past 5 years in Chaiyya Chaiyya . You should know that CD's are pretty cheap in India and is a great way to add to your CD collection! If you PM me, I can give you a list of actual song titles that are great hits that get everyone on the dance floors at the sangeets and weddings. Bhangra, bollywood and Arabic.

The main problem I've had with just heading over to the local Indian grocery is that there's just SO MUCH there it's hard to know where to begin. Much better to go in with a shortlist of things to look out for, even if it's something vague like "Recent SRK movies".

Hello - I Felt the need to add to this thread

dlesli - here are some good soundtracks that are newer and have some dancey songs and remixes:

Jab We Met (came out awhile ago, but they basically played this album on the radio 24/7 when I was in New Delhi last month - very catchy)

Race (new movie coming out in march - soundtrack is sort of like Dhoom 2)

Other new ones:
Johnny Gaddar
Cash
Dhol
Halla Bol
Goal
Kya Love Story Hai

I could go on and on

I dislike CDs, but like to pay for music so I usually buy from Itunes or emusic. Emusic is really expanding their selection of new albums. They also have a lot of great older hindi and tamil soundtracks.
