Music in the Park - Delhi

Hi there,

I have heard about Hindustani Classical Music programs in Nehru Park, Delhi on Sundays. I think it is called Music in Park. I have read about either morning or evening raga performances. I will be in Delhi this time next week and would love to check out one of these programs if they are still running. Does anyone have any up to date information about these performances, such as; dates, timings and artists, etc ?

<Sigh> As so often, searching the web (I just spent some time looking for you) for events and festivals obviously throws up plenty of hits, most of them outdated and non-specific though.

One would think there must be members from the Indian tourism industry reading along here; Guys (gals), how hard can it be to get up a user-friendly relevant all-India calendar that covers not just the major biggies but the more obscure yet still common festivals as well, and that would be attractive enough to find a naturally high ranking with search engines?

For that matter, a widely distributed print version? It's just frustrating looking for stuff that you know is out there and finding information on last year's event at best, if not that of 2002.

Spread the word! Please! Do something with your time for that matter, other than spamming some hapless forums with your silly ads!

... So, no one have any current dates on this? Maybe a mod wants to move it to Delhi forum to hopefully gain the more relevant attention?

Yea a little news on this would be great. But if there is no news coming regarding this point then I would still be grateful for any information about up and coming classical music programs in Delhi. I will be there from 3rd until the 9th of April so if anyone knows of anything happening then please let me know.

That's a shame , it looks like I have missed the boat for Music in the Park, but then I guess there is always next time. As for the Bhakti Festival, it looks interesting and if the dates coincide with my time in Delhi then I will check it out. It will give me the opportunity to practise my whirling dervish moves !!
