Ah! Well, that was fairly easy

(Pretty heavy quality loss though, but, hey, it's free innit. Plus, my 13B now seems to be gone. Hm. Will have a closer look soon. Oh, look, here it is: http://broadband.bigflix.com/bigflic...p?titleId=2546. Thanks. Now for the subtitled version )

lol...it happens.

Is this the same 13B you were talking about?

If it is, let me know how it was after you watch it.

The Boat That Rocked
the 1960's - rock and roll was banned from radio stations, as it was considered lewd, immoral and all about drugs.
a band of rogue DJ's transmit rock and roll from an illegal radio station which is aboard a ship somewhere in the north sea...
and take on the british government of the day
brilliant script - positively brilliant!

its an absolute must watch for folks who loved the music of that era [awesome soundtrack] - as also for folks who enjoy taking on the system

Philip Seymour Hoffman, as always, never fails to deliver.

been quite sometime since i have enjoyed a movie - hook, line and sinker

I've been seeing the trailers on TV and I KNOW I want to see this movie. I'm also old enough to actually remember when it happened!!! God I'm old when historical movies are my own lifetime. Rock Out Man!!!

You people have to watch these to bring out more awareness to our belief system.

Zeitgeist - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1166827/
Zeitgeist - Addendum - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1332128/
Obama Deception - http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...0250258 00195

Must watch people. See what distorted reality we all live in.

I saw Zeitgeist, wild conspiracy theorists . . . entertaining though!

The boat that rocked was a good watch, a bit over the edge, but hey that's what rock and roll is all about isn't it! The sound track is awesome . . . the ending was a bit surreal though!!

The concept reminded me of Pump up the Volume . . .

I was reading up some about it, and it seems to be of course fiction. (There was indeed an interesting pirate radio ship movement at the time, in The Netherlands too. However despite the obvious romance of it, it wasn't about airing stuff that was otherwise off-limits or something. It was just purely commercial, and had to do with limitations on broadcasting beyond permits for it.)

And so these stations didn't act as broadcasters for otherwise revolutionary or even off-beat material either. That is indeed just a romantic fantasy. (Moreover, the banning on the British airwaves of rock-'n'-roll as presented just never happened it would seem.) (And I reckon if anything disco at the time had something to owe to them, and then bland '70s pop shortly before it.)

Interestingly and in NL at least (in Britain too I think and am in fact quite sure), they acted as the direct precursors to commercial radio and TV rather. (Very "direct" indeed, in that they were and are often the same companies. The Dutch Veronica (about as bland and mainstream and blatantly commercial as it comes, and having spawned many an even far more directly commercial channel indeed -- commercial broadcasting was only finally allowed here in the later '80s one should realize, if not the earlier '90s even, I forget) grew directly out of the famous pirate ship station of that name.)

Thanks for recommendation. Have heard Monty Python's name a lot, but have no clue what person/character he is.

Hopefully these movies would be a good initiation to his world.
