Quite the disappointment, btw (The Guru). Oh well, I guess just another case of unduly cranked-up expectations.

Looks good enough for getting stoned and watching! Also funny to watch the westeners perception of the Guru Shishya parampara.
It would hardly make any serious difference though.Members of the laughter clubs should be made to watch; they are sure to bring the house down laughing offensively. Also speaking about Maharishi Mahesh Yogi the other person that comes to mind is Rajneesh though not as a caricature.(there are lots of Gurus with millions of disciples(shishyas) in India). Me thinks the movie lampoons the westeners hinduwannabes rather than base itself on any truth. Looking forward to see the movie and.......eheh |

have seen a few video clips of it already on some yoga blogs and it looks hilarious -- especially when he's trying to put his leg behind his head......

I know I'm 30 years late in discovering Karma Cola..I only just read it. but a lot of my friends went through the Rajneesh thing and it really shines a light on the whole 70s/80s western fascination with the east. There's certainly much to make fun of, but also a dark side as Mehta points out, and as many can attest to...
Not that that means Mike Myers shouldn't go for it of course! |

Maybe get together for an international IndiaMike screening? What's that famous cinema in Jaipur called again? "No, officer, Mike Myers made me do it..."
