Well, I hate to rain on your parade, but unless I'm mistaken the poetry of Kabir is not written in Sanskrit but in Urdu/Hindi... Kabir lived... around the 1500s? (or is it 1100s?) in Delhi, I think... I do know that the most prominent translation (in English) is by Rabindranath Tagore, and there is a well-known adaptation of these translations by Rober Bly (also English)... regardless, you may want to consider translating the English of Tagore into your own Russian... or you might consider learning medieval Urdu (considerably more time, I would think).

Marco,

Kabirs poetry is written in the period of the decline of Apabhransha and emergence of modern Hindi. This Apabhransha language is actual more or less as well the base of Modern Hindi as Modern Urdu. Therefore translating Kabir from the original scriptures will be a major task, since one has to have a good knowledge of as well hindi as urdu. To make a good translation also a basic knowledge of prakrit and the grammatical and phonetical rules of how prakrit languages changed into Hindi is recommended. If you really plan to translate the original i would start with getting a solid foundation of hindi language knowledge. this will enable you at least to understand more or less what is written, but w/o the above mentioned additional knowledge i am afraid it will hardly be possible to translate Kabir in a proper way. but anyway good luck with your translation plans.
