Kathak Days in San Francisco

On September 28030, 2006, there will be performances, symposiums, and an international Kathak festival in San Francisco, California.

Presentations include papers and discussions of "Cultural Contest of Dance in India and Abroad," "Gender Portrayal and the History of the Courtesans," "Interrelationship between Dance, Music and Percussion," and "Traditional Dance in Modern Society."

In the Saturday night performance, a program called "India Jazz Suites" will showcase Pt. Chitresh Dash, and tapdancer Jason Samuels Smith -- now that ought to be very interesting!
