khar danda road [ khar west ] is near bandra.
sarvodaya is at one end of khar danda. its a fork, one leads to pali hill, the other, to khar danda. ambedkar's statue is the landmark.

landmark [bookstore] is in the infinity mall in andheri [west].

Thanks, brishti .... next time I go to the western suburbs, will look out for those DVDs there ... meanwhile feel free to add to the shopping list if you think it worthwhile.

I have been searching for my old diary (of 65-70!) where I had written down all those wonderful movies (seen every saturday at the Netaji Auditorium or at the SI in KGP-town). Have to ask my wife now ... Oh Gawd! maybe she has thrown it way, during one of her frequent spring cleanings here

They have dada but restricted to 2 stores only according to their website ,so far.

But i think this might help out for Kanchenjungha

http://www.webmallindia.com/moviesea...NGHA#ship_calc

Best part is that they offer COD in Mumbai so no tension about money and delivery equations.

Location of Sarvodaya

Just a small correction to Brishti's post, the location of Sarvodaya is as follows: from Bandra follow Linking Road ,turn left onto Khar Danda Road and again after about 500m turn left onto Ambedkar Road. Follow this until the statue of Ambedkar where you will find Sarvodaya.

Apart from most non-mainstream Indian films they have a fantastic collection of award winning or critically acclaimed foreign films by directors like (say) Emir Kusturica or Mohsen Makhmalbaf

Bhai I am a member of the bigflicks.com & altho there is a store close to my place I order online and the DVD is delivered to my house and the one rented before this collected. They deliver two times a day. They have their warehouse some where in west Delhi. You can also create a queue so that you keep on getting your choice of films the way you want.

Yay! Thanks for mentioning this. I was just wondering how to live without Netflix. Looking at the website, seems they might be better, even. How have they worked out for you? Is it a new company? Seems not to have too many store locations yet.

And for those not in India, they're available by broadband too. Looks like they have LOTS of movies, tv shows, etc that are all
"Available in: WHOLE WORLD" (I love that)

Thanks, Capt. Neel! I think that's the one. Though copy pasting your name did not give me any results on youtube it occurred to use 'Satyajit Ray' for search and voila.....a very amusing scene is there from that very movie. I still remember that scene. That music is really nice! Specially that string instrument in between the tabla(?) beats. Nice!

Okay Bristi...just for you! Correction is important though, specially when I like that language. Thanks for the correction. NOW it sounds like true Bengali. That "a" in a'mar I mean!

Less of the parochial stuff, it cud get you banned.
BTW, jyortimoy lives up here too.

North is a point on a compass. All depends on your point of view, literally. In the hills, they complain about us 'southerners'.

I like brishti di though. Think I might use it myself.
