Hi greenstua,
Not sure if this is the one to which you were referring, but I happen to have the Pilot Guides 4-DVD set on India. On the episode about East India, the traveler buys a book called Autobiography of an Unknown Indian by Nirad C. Chaudhuri. Hope this helps (I haven't read the book so don't know if it matches the subject you mentioned).

I've just read a funny little graphic novel called Corridor that is set in Delhi and the main character is a chai wallah. ??
EDIT: oh sorry, I was typing that while Locusstandi was posting. Looks like the Nellyo Telpan book is probably the one you want. |
