Good Indian Presence at Sydney Writers' Festival
The weather has been unusually benign for the festival and there have been interesting contributions from William Dalrymple, Christopher Kremmer and John Zubrzycki on Indian themes.
WD is pushing his latest work "The Last Mughal" in his usual charming way. Christopher and John will be less well known to people outside Australia and India - they are both from a journalistic background with long years spent on the sub-continent. "Inhaling the Mahatma" by Christopher Kremmer is an entertaining account of his time in India whereas John's "The Last Nizam" is an absorbing account of the life of the last Nizam of Hyderabad. Workshops and lectures have been incredibly well attended. |

A taxi driver told me to buy this book after I mentioned to him I was in India a couple of months back. Still haven't gone around to buying it.
