Favourite Indian TV ad?
I was just wondering which TV ads everyone likes - - - ???
I find some Indian spots really hilarious, for example the one for Century Ply where everyone uses the poor guy's plywood and he's too polite to say something, or really sweet like the Idea Phone ad with Abhishek Bachchan at the Taj Mahal - "What an idea!" (I never before noticed how hot the guy is! ) Does anyone know who the girl is? Such a cutie! Some time ago there was this ad were a large crowd of people was glued to a truck ... I think for a glue? That was hilarious too! ![]()

Hi Noodle! I like those ads you've mentioned too. My favourite at the moment is the Tanishq gold jewellery one with clips from Jodhaa Akbar movie - I just want to see the movie too. Don't think I actually want the gold though.. I really liked the Hutch ads (don't see them now that they are Vodaphone) with that cute little boy and his dog. Does anyone know where the location was? Was it Kerala?

I don't know the ad with clips from the movie but the one with Ashwarya Rai (which is also for Tanishq if I'm not mistaken?) - so beautiful and sexy!

Hari Sadu (H for Hitler, A for arrogant ...) one for naukri.com any day. Maybe because I have worked at such disastrous places that I just love that ad.

Oh, what was that ad for where all the slaves provide light with their shining teeth? Some chewing gum, right? I found it fascinating to watch!

mridula - love that one - and especially the S and a great pause and someone else says 'shameless?' It's very funny and clever!
Is the Dent ad the one where this dentist is giving a cow chewing gum and its teeth glow white afterwards? It's funny but sort of irritating I find. Does anyone know who the 'cutie' actress is? It's a great ad! |

Do you mean the cow from the dentist ad?
The cutie from the Idea ad might very well be really a foreign tourist, they scoop them up in busloads here in Pune (no kidding) and drive them down to Mumbai for shooting. Ads, extras in movies, small one-liner roles ... I know two who got on TV this way. |

Just came across this one. Worth sharing I thought.
The question asked by that kid near the end is one riveting question. It got through me. Quote:

hehe - that is a good one! Although at first I thought the disclaimer said all stunts are done by "expats".
Guess I need my eyes checked! This one is sort of old, but I find it funny (for the filmi references): http://youtube.com/watch?v=Tiorn-mL0To C |

Good joke, Noodle! Amyl the Holi ad for the hostel brought a tear to my eye - it certainly works doesn't it? I hadn't seen it before. The Happydent one is the same chewing gum for the cow I think. That Abishek ad is very funny, Cardamom!
