Favourite/Best documentaries about India?
I loved the Monsoon Railway and Bombay Railway done by the BBC over the summer. Only caught a glimpse of the the Michael Wood series too but I've ordered the DVD. So what are people's opinions?

louis malle
louis malle's "phantom india". 40ish years old, and utterly timeless. see the "calcutta" doc, too, made from left-over footage from "phantom."

Monsoon Railway was fantastic as was the Michael Wood documentary. Michael was my hero during my A levels in 1983.
Only 2 weeks and 5 days till we fly to Trivandrum...can't wait. |

I enjoyed Moonsoon Railway (of course) and I have the Michael Wood series + Louis Malle's "phantom india", "calcutta" doc on DVD - Still got to sit and watch them!
