Calling all film buffs

Hi Guys,

Wondering if one of you could help me. I know the film Paheli is shot in Rajashthan, but there's one particular place I'm interested in.

It's the place where SRK and Rani stop on the way back to his village from hers after they get married. The place with all the steps going down to a water place...

Sorry for being very vague, but its been a while since I saw this film but remember thinking "Oh I would love to go there".

Any pointers would be appriciated.

So on the bus from Jaipur to Agra (or vice versa) should I ask for Banikui and then get a local bus from there?

While we are on Rajasthan and movies, the only Hindi movie I have seen in the last three years or so.. DOR... is partly shot in Rajasthan (Jaisalmer? Jodhpur?).. and is breathtaking.

And hijacking Beena's thread now, with apologies, can somebody please tell me where in Himachal the other half of the same movie (Dor) is shot?

Thats even better than Rajasthan.

Have never been there this way...however just keep in mind that its not a touristy area at all...and finding very basic things as per western standards would be a big challenge..

If you are upto it..then yes..just take a local bus to Bandikui, see your sight and take another bus forward...

I won't recommend you to stay there beyond 4-5 pm if you are single female traveler..

There was (and as Nayan noted) some discussion of it here & onwards. (And glad to be back gang. Had some technical glitches come in the way for a bit.)
