Dehradun
1. Natraj Publishers
This is a great bookshop on Rajpur Road, not far from the Clock Tower, opposite the Park. Apart from having some hard to find titles on the Himalaya, wildlife, some Gazetteers from British times, defence matters, etc, they are also publishers, as the name suggests. In fact a few of the hard-to-find have either been reprinted or published by them. This includes 3-4 of Corbett's books translated into Hindi. They are also an 'official' stockist of Ruskin Bond's books. Mr Arora, the owner, is a great guy - very knowledgeable and very helpful. They are happy to ship books anywhere in India; also abroad, I think. Quickest is to call them Natraj Publishers, 17, Rajpur Road, Dehradun 248001 Tel: 0135-2653382 and 2654584 2. English Book Depot Another very good bookshop, very close to Natraj. It's in the same premises as Barista. Apart from being a large(ish) shop, they also do some publishing work. Here's their website, where one can order online too. (Thanks Raghu) |
