Question Books on India

Can anyone recommend a good book about India? I'm after something that's non-fiction, but also entertaining to read. Something that will remind me of my short time there - a book that perhaps makes observations that I can relate to. Do any such books exist?

There are loads of discussions on books - fiction and non-fiction - in the Literature section of the forum....

Hi njm44,

Last three books I have read are:

Magic seeds - V.S.Naipaul
Madras on rainy days - Samina Ali
Butter chicken in Ludhiana - Pankaj Mishra

The first two are absolutely new ( from 2004 ), and the third one is ten years old, but all three are really interesting and for sure you will remember many, many things.

Jorge

India is one of the larger markets for English-language literature I believe so you might surprise yourself by enquiring at your local bookstore.
