Bollywood crushes
Thought I'd lower the tone of this rather literary board by announcing that I have such a thing for Shahrukh Khan you wouldn't believe. I've gone all fangirly.
Weirdly I also seem to like Sanjay Dutt despite him being a tubby convicted criminal with a passing resemblance to a disconsolate bloodhound. My crushes seem to be rather old fashioned- can anybody point me to some fresh meat...er...talent? And here's King Khan for the ladies (and gentlemen)...altogether now.. *swoon*. ![]() |

As a fellow King Khan junkie, I can sympathize with the tummy butterflies a fan gets during some scenes!! LOL You may want to peek at some Salman Khan (Sallu) starrers, or John Abraham, or 'the kissing bandit' Emraan Hashmi (naughty little boy that one!), and of course Hrithik Roshan (Duggu effectionately known). I get teased at work for putting little 'coulage' of our handsome hero in various personas.
Great for knowing the latest stuff coming out is www.glamsham.com. I teach 'Bollywood 101', Indian Cinema for beginners....if you are just starting your bolly-obsession, drop me a line and I'll email you out some starter movie reviews I give to students. And don't feel bad......a billion other female fans of SRK can't be wrong!! LOL Kim

SRK does have something, but when he plays roles in which he acts like an imbecile, that something kinda fades into the background. i like when he does serious roles.
Dutt does nothing for me, but i kinda fancy John Abraham.

When SRK is being 'cute' and goofy, I don't mind and think it's endearing, but movies like 'Duplicate'...well...that was probably one of my top 10 most hated movies...even the King couldn't pull that one off. Everytime his 'evil' self did that lip licking thing I wanted to toss my shoe at the screen!
I like Dutt as an actor alot...I can't say he does anything for me either (any guesses if he'll serve the full 6 years?) . I'm not a huge fan of Abhishek B. either. He ain't his father that's for sure...but he was great in '.Bunty aur Babli'. Yeah...John is pretty to look at AND he's a pretty good talent as well. I think that he's going to do some great things in the coming years if he plays his cards right. Kim |

I'm pretty new here, going to India for the first time in October... but I'm also a big big Bollywood fan, and SRK in particular. If any of you are non-Hindi speaking fans, I have a little website that features his interviews, songs, award show appearances, etc, with English subtitles. A very talented Desi lady translates for me, and I learned how to add subtitles to video. http://www.srkpagali.net

If Shah Rukh ki Jaddoo reaches you, my guess is you won't find someone else who has a similar effect, or as strong a one, among Hindi movie actors working today, though I think a lot of them are great to see (Aamir Khan is probably the other one whose movies going forward I'll always see).
For me there are a few people in older Bollywood movies that I can feel dreamy about - Raj Kapoor in Shree 420 and Awaara, and his brother Shashi in Bombay Talkie (not a great movie, but interesting for scenes of Bombay in the 60s, and great Shashi) and in Jab Jab Phool Khile. I guess this might not help you stop being "old-fashioned" though!! PS I know Maryah's site that she mentions above, it is a really special resource for subtitled videos of Shah Rukh things!! I also like the discussions on the forum at Bollywhat.com. |

There is a simple test for determining your greatest crush(es).
Think of a sexy Actor/Actress and decide if you'd leave your spouse for that Bollywood bombshell.
My wife would leave me for Hrithik Roshan, Malika Aurora, Abhishek Bachchan, or Aishwarya Rai. Not necessarily in that order. For me I'd take Malika Aurora, Aishwarya Rai, this girl, Bipasha Basu. Not necessarily in that order.
