Live Blues in Delhi?
Hi,
I am surprised to hear that there is live Blues in Delhi! Are there regular concerts or jam sessions, and where would I find information of when and where they take place. I love blues and used to sing and play the harp myself more than a decade before. Thanks for any information!

Blues last evening
The concert was excellent last evening. We never had it so good for a real long time. The only white musician was probably a magician considering the way he played his harmonica, we were practically messmerised. Came back home almost in a trance. All thanks to Goutam Ghosh who made this happen.
There is another concert tomorrow at 6 PM at the Garden of Five Senses. Yes there is a group of serious music lovers in Delhi for Blues, Jazz & classical rock. But they are mostly guys with salt & pepper coloured foliage. Get togethers are pretty private dos. They also own very good collection of music & very fussy over things like bias level of the decks and all this sort of things. Most are foodies too! We have occasional jam ups at the lakeside resort of Mr. Mahendra Verma at Naukuchital. I had earlier posted about this with phone numbers. Even tho locals que up if our white haired friend turns up & plays Hendrix numbers. This year we had a mini Woodstock at Dhanaoulti late October where all rock bands came to play. Some hoteliers will be chipping in next year to offer a combo ticket that is concert + accommodation. |
