beach...

I liked BLACK...after a long time, a good Indian movie!

Rani + Bachchan Senior = interesting
Rani + Bachchan Senior + Sanjay Leela Bansali = very interesting!!!

I hope BLACK gets an oscar for India next year! :-)

Not seen it.

Bachan = Another great actor with links to Punjab
Rani = plump actress with voice as if she has permanent sore throat.

Black = copy of 1962 double-Oscar winning classic - The Miracle Worker

Seen it.
Nice performance (tailor made for awards) by the lead actors. The best performance came from the kid who plays the young Rani, also a nice subdued performance by Shernaz Patel who plays Rani's mom.
A bit dark and depressing at times. Can't go through it a second time.

Unfortunately, I couldn't see the movie in India last month, as its date of release co-incided with my date of return to Yangon.

No VCD available here, either !!

I agree with warlock's assessment of the acting. It is difficult to watch but one of the best films I've seen from Bollywood. Nice to see Rani flex a little more dramatic muscle. With this film she cements herself as an excellent actress.
