The trailer does look interesting...may-be it starts out in the north then goes to Hampi?

Take a look everyone....does the little round boat look like Hampi?

Saw it just the other day on 3Sat, a Euro TV station. Stories of real Hippies that stoned themselves and their brains almost to death (shsown smoking dope all the time), and found other ways to make themselves miserable. Only the story of the twins is one that keeps the balance somehow. Interesting to know that the local women who married male hippies went thru the nightmare of getting disowned and cast out by even their closest friends for marrying them.

One interesting fact though that surprised me is that one lady who stayed for twenty years illegally, could go back to Europe and pay up for the missed visa-fees, and then actually return to India right away. That is really surprising. She must have managed to get a special deal while in India itself.

Yes, it was a really strange movie... gave you somehow the impression that all people who stayed in India are only smoking or drinking (the twins) all the time...

horrible... embarassing (the twins)...

I felt the wife of the Swiss guy was outcasted already because of her previous divorce... but I understand it fully that she was even more when she started staying with that guy. I guess with such a husband you are outcasted all over the world... and she was so patient... I hope she managed to get her Swiss passport and gets a chance to fulfill at least part of her dreams. Good luck to her.

The Belgian lady was also amazing, I liked the way she lived her life against others prejudices and that she managed to pay her visa fees after 20 years... wow...

All in all it was interesting in how many ways people live their lifes...

Somehow I feel pity when it's always this drug-and-spiritual picture... In fact, that made me to stay away from India for a long time... fortunately I was lucky to discover: India has so much more

I did not see the whole movie but just skipped sequences on a recording, so I did not get that the twins were troubled too. It was really a kind of turn-off to see the whole thing. Probably the most uplifting persons were the ones into spiritual paths, like the Italian sadhu who started an ashram and the Belgian woman you mentioned (that is the one with the visa-fees ). The Hampi-painter also seemed to have some positive views to share. What i found really sad was the sequence on a young woman whose Hippie husband had died, and who had two nice kids around 10 years old. He did not leave her any money, and they do not have any contact to their relatives in Europe. The parents denied their son. The painter however got into touch with his father again and found a way to his heart. That was nice to hear.
