Anyone here written a book on anything?

Just curious, there must be several here who must have written articles or maybe even books? So can we have an idea on the closet authors?

The reason I am asking is I wrote a book that got published recently (totlally unrelated to travel) and I had to go thru helluva frustrations along the way. But now it feels great to have the printed book in hand etc..

So would anyone like to share thier experiences at writing and pubishing?

i've had articles published but no books, as of yet. I have a few books started, and one near completion, although it has been for years now. When i was last in india i wrote tons but now that i am back home and dealing with the responsibilities of life my brain seems switched off to writing. very frustrating!

i just recently talked with a guy who had his first book self-published, so that he had total control of it, not something a lot of publishers offer.

I am in the process of self-publishing a book. I hope I can make a lot of publicity when it will be finished (max 2 months).

self-publishing has a lot of disadvantages, such as nobody takes you really seriously, but if the book is good, maybe some editor will pick it up and then you can get a second edition I guess.

I am just hoping for the best, but what matters the most is to get the public to like it and that is a big task.
