"Amu" Playing in San Francisco
India travellers in the SF Bay Area, I would hate to have you miss Shonali Bose's film "Amu" which is at the Four Star in San Francisco and also at the Naz 8 in Fremont.
It's a film in which an Indian girl visits relatives in Delhi, and finds out about the 1984 massacre of Sikhs that took place after Mrs. Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh guards. Not a "pretty" film, as Bose is still very angry about these events; it's well done and the characters are like people we've all met. It'll be here until Thursday for sure ... longer if the box office is good! |
