Amrish 'Mogambo' Puri is no more
Bollywood actor Amrish Puri died of brain haemorrhage on Wednesday morning in Mumbai. He was 72 years old. He had been ill for almost two weeks.
Born on June 22, 1932, Amrish Puri made his Bollywood debut with Reshma Aur Shera in 1971. Much later filmmaker Shyam Benegal cast him in memorable roles in films like Nishaant, Bhumika and Manthan . For more :-http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/a...how/987898.cms |

That comes as a shock..last I saw him on TV/Film he was fit and fine.....
IMHO One of the good actors whose talents were not exploited fully..he got type casted as a great villian..which he was trying to change from last few years...but I feel he still had lot more years to give....

It shocks me too..he was one of earliest person to croos the border and act in Hollywood movie Indiana Jones.
and off late he did beautifully well as a non-villian/father of the girl type of roles. Dilwali Dulhaniya le jayange...  |

someone should have mentioned the film 'mr.india' which made him famous. the character he portrayed there named 'mogambo' earned him the nickname.

I saw him last in the movie 'Hungama'...his best by far was Mr.India.
