Thumbs up Alice Patten smitten with Aamir Khan

Hi all, Saw again 'Rang De Basanti' 3rd or 4th time. The girl Sue played by Alice Patten is shown to be smitten by Aamir in the movie. I wish she played some more roles in the movies. A Fine actress. Here's her interview on BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/films/2006/01/2...nterview.shtml

Agree 100%.

While you understand what message the director is trying to give, he chose a crude and rather illogical method to do so. If his intention was to shock, that didnt work either. In the end, it started looking like some of those hindi movies in the nineties.

If only he chose to be a little subtle and realistic... it would have been a terrific movie.

I know! I was like "What the hell?!". The son killing his dad was a bit too extreme, as was the rest of murdering the politicians. It would of been a better movie, if, instead them being 'patriotic', they should have done a road trip where they all just get stoned, or something. Anything other than killing. I thought it was going to be an Indian teen movie at first.

I'm smitten with Aamir Khan too... I've Rang De Basanti waiting for me on the desk - I should watch it, soon. It's been compared to Lage Raho Munnabhai, because it endorses violence while Lage Raho Munnabhai doesn't blah blah blah...? Unfortunately, I don't have Lage Raho Munnabhai, so won't be able to compare soon.

Lage Raho Munnabhai is where the protagonist is inspired by Gandhi, while Basanti is more inspired by fighting revolutionaries. Other than that, they both don't really have any other similarities.
