hotels near Takht Shri Harmandir Sahib.

hey guys i am traveling with family from delhi to patna in early january and was wondering if there is any hotels near the gurdwara. i dont want to have to take a taxi. just walking distance maybe. and what is the weather like around january. thank you

that information is for harmandir sahib in amritsar... but i am actually searching for information about Patna sahib gurdwara..... the main gurdwara which i think is calles takht harmandir........

sorry mate there is no hotel near gurudwara ,
actually there is no hotel for killometers ,
though you can get hotel near railway station and take the intercity to rich gurudwara or you can take private car to rich there .

Thanx for the reply...now the guest house at the gurdwara ...is it a new one.. i know there were talks that they were going to be building a brand new building across from gurdwara sahib. ?
My parents stayed at a guest house in patna 2years ago they said it was okay..the blankets and bed sheets weren\t that clean.. Since I\'m travelling with a baby I just want to make sure that itll be in good condition. THANK U

hey I did this trip in January this year, flew from DELHI to Patna, downside at Patna is the Gurdwara don't have any bus services from the airport to Takth Patna Sahib aka (Harmandir Sahib)so the safest + best option is when you land you book the PRE-PAID Taxi inside the airport counter I was charged 500 Rupees, as outsides touts were asking 700+ rupees and that was in like those autorikshaws etc not worth it, choose a car safer... The gurdwara is in inner city area, i.e. it's inside a built up area... Honestly we stayed inside the Gurdwara as we felt it was safer, they offer VIP rooms for like 100 rupees a night it's got attached bathrooms/hot water pretty nice accomodation and plus your inside the gurdwara... there were many people from outside India the day we left a young sikh family with lilttle children were checking in, apparantly they came directly from UK-DELHI-Patna... Also for security purposes the gurdwara building inside is manned by Sikh Battalion CRP forces and as far as I can remember I believe they close all the doors at night and only leave one main one open which is manned by security so it was pretty safe... We paid the same taxi charge 500 rupees when we flew out... make sure you spend like a couple of days, as the gurdwara committee runs tours to surrounding gurdwara's, apparently we could not stay much longer as we had a connecting flight to catch back to Sydney..

Weather was it was pretty warm in Patna in January as compared to Punjab/Northern India as it's usually winter... but just take jackets incase you may need them during the early morning/evening but during the day the sun is out in fullblast so warms up... ummm also I would recommend buying those electrical mosquito allout thingis and just have it plugged in, as there were a few mosquitos around but can't complain as it's just in Patna as there were alot in the airport building it self so I think Patna's got the mosquitos... also if your flying, keep in mind the flights may be delayed ex Delhi due to fog, our flight was delayed by 3 hours as the plane hadn't left Delhi due to fog so we were stuck waiting at Patna airport awaiting the flight..
