I can't remember the name, even though I was there last winter (!), but its on Bodhgaya Rd, on the same side of the road as the Chinese temple. With the Chinese temple on your right, carry on along that road in the out of town direction, as it bends to the right. The hotel is on the right, near the museum. If you get to the Thai temple, you've gone too far.
Have just got back to England, and found last year's diary. The hotel name is 'Niranjana', and as mentioned above, I was very pleased with it. Would definitely recommend. I stayed in room 206, at the end of corridor, and quite quiet.

An internet search quickly revealed their website:

http://hotelniranjana.co.in/contactus.htm

showing a phone number of 91-631-2200475 plus other ones for Fax and Mobile.

The website is quoting a rate for Single Non A.C. room as Rs. 1000 but I got one for 400. I was very pleased with the service, and would definitely go back on my next visit.

Ah Pantalis! How clean is clean? It's a cheap guest house. No frills.
I also used the Shanti Buddha Guest House E-Mail shantibuddha@rediffmail.com. telephone 91 631 2200534
It's pretty basic but clean and safe with attached bathroom and hot water (in room 104 anyway. I paid 300 rupees a night there. It was suitable or a guy traveling cheaply, but i wouldn't want to take my family there, as I said, rather basic.

The Light of the Dharma International pilgrimage will take place from December the 1st to the 10th. At the same time the Dali lama will be leading a pilgrimage from the 1st to the 9th of December. Each will attract many hundreds or thousands of Pilgrims. It is expected that all hotels in Bodhagaya will be booked out and prices may well escalate.
