I have booked two e-tickets from internet in 2AC coach in Rajdhani express 12310. I got 47 and 48 berth numbers. But someone told me that there are only 46 berths in any 2AC coach and this booking is invalid. And someone told me that LHB coachs are used in Rajdhani Trains and there are 54 Berths in such coachs. So, I am totally confused. Please help me out and tell me the fact. If possible then post the layout of 2AC coach of Rajdhani Trains.Please.

I've done carriage layout diagrams for most classes, but not for LHB carriages.

Indian railways carriage layout diagrams.

There are 54 berths in an LHB carriage, and you have side upper and side lower berth.

If you look at the 2A carriage layout diagram, an LHB carriage is the same up till berth 42, then .........

43 - LB
44 - UB
45 - LB
46 - UB
47 - SL
48 - SU

49 - LB
50 - UB
51 - LB
52 - UB
53 - SL
54 - SU
.

Are you sure?

I remember thinking it had an extra section, and the extra section had the full 6 berths.

I could be wrong, but it's not the kind of thing I usually get wrong.

Yes, I had seen it yesterday itself. I have confirmed with two bloggers, one at Indiarailinfo and one at IRFCA FB Forum that 2AC LHB has 52 berths. [In addition to my 8 times travel by Hwh-Ypr/Ypr-Hwh Duronto]

There must be 2 designs of 2A LHB.

Here's the design diagram

I've only checked on one carriage, even though I've travelled on LHB about 5 times, but for the most part, I hadn't notices any big differences innitially, it shows how well these LHB carriages were designed.

I had checked these designs way back in the RDSO Websites.
If you can notice the length of these coaches is more than the conventional ICF/RCF Coaches. Also it is quite surprising that the linen room has not been sketched out for the LHB Coaches.
