Where to store luggage for about 10 hours?
Two of us will be in Bangalore for about 12 hours on a Saturday and I am hoping to leave our bags somewhere whilst exploring. We arrive by air and leave by train. Any suggestions?
Many thanks. |

check to see if the Bangalore train station has a holding area for luggage's. I stored my backpacks and such at the train station in Chennai for the day. You will need to make sure everything is locked, secured and labeled for the train station to store it for you, that is their requirement.

yes, the railway station would be your best bet.

you could hire a tourist taxi for the day and take the luggage with you.

Somewhat more risky than the tourist taxi is a rickshaw. Choose one who looks honest and write down the registration of the vehicle. I've done this before, albeit for only 6 hours and in Trivandrum, and it worked fine. The guy was more than happy to sleep the afternoon away on our heavy backpacks while we went and explored. We gave the guy Rs400 as we were so happy not to carry the packs round town, and I bet he was happy too.

The airport should usually have a left luggage counter but if it does not then the railway station is the best bet!!! They normally charge Rs10 (for 24 hours) per piece of luggage which has to be locked and it is pretty safe too. No need to carry it around or keep it in a taxi or rickshaw as it can still be stolen or items found missing from the backpacks which are vulnerable to theft if left unattended!!!
Cheers, Aadil.
