for good steaks in Bangalore, please head to Millers 46 on Millers Road and The Grill House on Ulsoor Road. Both have been tried and tested the Chateaubriand and twice marinated steak at the Grill House are EPIC! =) excellent cuts .. great quality meat and cooked as per specification.

I'd like to bump up this thread to see if anyone has some new suggestions..

PS: From my recent experience, Millers 46, Only Place, Portlands etc. come nowhere close to world standards.. .. I am referring to Japanese Wagyu, Argentinian or USA, as those are my reference points)

Avoid steak in India. If you are looking for high quality steak, come to Texas.

Had excellent eye fillet ( beef ) with mushroom sauce---cooked Blue to medium rare--just how i like it, at " Le Club " in Pondy 2 days ago. Spoke to a couple of French locals and they said there is much better quality available at other restaurants in pondy--- so i guess it can only get better next visit.

My Aust business friends in Texas, tell me that like most things in Texas--------the quality of the flesh often gets confused with Quantity-----their benchmark is " Vlados Restaurant Melbourne "-- for more than 20 years Japanese travel company's have sold package tours to " Vlados "---- not that it probably means much but Bill Clinton has eaten there twice and loved it.

Maybe you should save this for TexasMike

But to be honest, was not too impressed with the steaks I got in Pondy.!
Lord, Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off.

I had a good steak at Bier Club Chophouse recently (Vittal Mallya Road). I'm not sure it was world standard, but I have not found better in Bangalore...but I'm still trying. I'm interested, too, if anyone has found better. I love The Only Place as a restaurant but their steak is just okay.

I posted elsewhere on this forum that my search for good steak led me to Prime, at the Le Meridien Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The post had pictures. Some later images.

I understand that an equivalent Wagyu is available at the Oberoi, for the princely sum of 15,000/- rupees!

Indian Beef is amazingly good. However, I have not found a butcher who knows how to cut a steak out of the animal. Most Indian cows are too small made. Apparently, during Bakrid, the Ongole cows become available.. I can't wait.

I tried a great fillet mingon at "chez JAcques Brasserie" on lavelle road opposite the Harley Davidson showroom, it was really nice and cooked med rare to perfection... it came with satueed veggies and caramalized onions to compliment the well cooked meat...The quality of the meat was good, tender and juicy..."beef" tasting (for lack of a better expression:-)) Chug it down with a nice glass of french red wine and voila...of nothing compares to the japanese wagyu and texan stakes!!!
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.
