Bombay Chowpathy Kulfi & Chaat.
Ph: 080-25485855 Add: # 41/B Mosque Cplx, MM Rd, Frazer Twn. For Calcutta/Bihar style: Calcutta Victoria Chaat Jeevan Bhima Nagar Next to ThunderChicken (Branches in Kalyan Nagar, Kamanahalli, and elsewhere, but JBNagar is da bomb ). For Delhi Style: Sukh Sagar National Market Complex Gandhi Nagar Karthik Mithaiwalla CMH Road Opp CoffeeDay Indiranagar (I understand he may have moved to Thippasandra Main road ) On Sundays he serves Chole Bhatura to die for. In the summer, he serves Pani Puri (gol guppa) with icy, minty pani! ) Last edited by anton : Oct 10th, 2009 at 23:06. |

Let me add few, though they may not be qualified as "best" (and certainly they are not asli Mumbiaya style)
1. Karnataka Bhel House, Bull Temple Road, Chamrajpet 2. Srinivasa cool corner, NR Colony There seem to be one in BTM layout called Bombay Chowpaty or something, that I am yet to try. I will post my feedback after my visit (which is due shortly) |

dont much care for chaat made in bombay [the only thing i hold against that city
]grown up eating junk food on the streets in calcutta - and i know my chaat well ![]() the 2 cities that measured up to my chaat standards are - delhi and ahmedabad. the south, unfortunately, has no idea what chaat is all about when i saw carrots in my bhel, i knew i'd be in mourning for a long long time. then i discovered 'Tewari's' on Dickenson Road. absolute bliss bliss bliss. :brishti |

I'm not a bhel fan, so I would agree that Bombay chaat isn't the Holy Grail of chaat-dom, but my family swear by the stuff. Apparently the bhel you get in Bomabay has extra ingredients... dried fruit, raw mango, the full nine yards.
They also swear by the mooli in Calcutta, but I head straight from the airport to Treasure Island. The batata puri and the dhai bhalla is amazing! Not to mention the puchka! Yet to find its equivalent in Bangalore, althought Tewari does a good version of the Ralli ( Lindsay Street ) falooda kulfi. Lucknow chaat tops all I think: I first encountered the ice chaat there! if anybody is around mekhri circle in the evening and is feeling chaaty - there is a fantastic original street-food place i have discovered.
its next to the rt nagar police station - towards CBI road. the footpath by the adidas [or is it reebok] showroom. there is a perpetual crowd eating chaat there you want puchka's ? oh maan... its the real mccoy. they also have different varieties of chaat being served from a hole-in-the-wall. heaven itellya ![]() :brishti |

If you do end up around R T Nagar police station, there is another
very popular chaat centre nearby, -- Gangotri. They have some good stuff. Especially try their thin (much thinner than typical) and crunchy jalebi , -- yum!! (Has to be eaten hot to preserve the crunch). ----- P.S. Sorry for old information! Please see below. Last edited by suricate : Oct 21st, 2009 at 20:39. |

Didn't know that. They were so popular! I had been last there
quite sometime back myself. May be they shut down because they had lost their biggest customer! ![]() |
