Welcome to IndiaMike.
Have a look at Bangalore Meetups for IndiaMike meetings there (scroll to the end of it for latest developments). It's not very active I don't think, but, you could try your luck. Check also http://www.timeoutbengaluru.net/, they should have a paper edition as well. I know their Mumbai edition is quite good. Try also http://bangalore.burrp.com/.

Hey JP, welcome to Bangalore!
For starters you could take a short trip around bangalore, it is organized by KSTDC this should be helpful: http://www.discoverbangalore.com/sightseeing.htm This too: http://kstdc.net/Tours.htm If you are the outdoor types and would love a trek or two you could try out Bangalore mountaineering club, they conduct weekend treks around Bangalore, the western ghats and much more. Their website:http://bmcindia.org/ If you are the foodie types check out the Famous restaurants thread under Bangalore itself, you'll need a lot of time to exhaust that list! Hope this helps! ![]() |

Thanks machadinha and BugBit for the help.
![]() Have checked out Bangalore Meetups, as said the thread isn't active but will see how it goes. Will have a look at TimeOut. What's the deal on clubs here - they have to close at 11? I'm still confused about that. Will look at some of the links here, mountaineering sounds fun. Any other help would be appreciated ![]()

Well don't remind of the after 11 shutdown/curfew!
It's apparently an attempt to reduce crime rate. So have to learn to live that. . So no real eatouts after that other than Empire chain of hotels. You should try it out sometime, they serve some fabulous chicken cuisine as late as 1 in the night. They are located at Koramangala near Jyothi Nivas College, Shivajinagar and Church Street. |
