Sightseeing in Bangalore

I wonder if someone can help – my husband and I are visiting from England in Jan 2013 and have 2 full days in Bangalore and hope to visit Cubbon Park seeing state buildings & Venkatappa Art Gallery; Bengaluru Palace, Iskcon Temple; Tipu Sultan's Palace, city market, Jama Masjid, Venkataramana Temple; Lalbagh Gardens, Nandi Bull Temple & Dodda Ganesha Temple.

We plan to stay near Richmond Park. It is feasible to make our own way round by bus/autorickshaw/walking, or will we only get to see everything if we have a car and driver to take us round?
We prefer to go at our own speed, so a tour bus is not a choice.

Welcome to India/Bangalore. Bangalore is well connected with public transport and you can visit all these places by bus. expect City market is very crowded place and the places are not clean around Jamma masjid. you need to walk here. you can take a daily volvo A/c bus pass which is less crowded and you get good views of city when you travel around. The day pass cost you 100INR and valid for volvo city buses only. you can also visit here BTIS to know about the transport system in bangalore. I suggest you skip Jamma masjid(built in 1940s) as the place around is not clean and over crowded due to bus station. you can check out pictures in google before you visit jamma masjid. Please let me know if you have more queries. If you are more interested in historic places you can drop some places and make a day trip to srirangapatnam(120kms) from bangalore. This is the place where the 1799 war was fought and tippu sultan was killed. very important place to be visited. easily accessible by bus. Frequency available every 5 minutes.

berkstraveller..if you are visiting 'Srirangapatnam', keep a day aside and do it at leisure! Definitely worth seeing everything there! Happy travels!
