Satyajit Ray DVDs?

Any suggestions as to where to buy a DVD of Pather Panchali in Bangalore? It is out of print, and I have been unable to locate it in the larger stores on Brigade Road.

You might want to try the dvd stores- Cinema Paradiso in Koramangala, or Habitat in church street should be able to guide you better.
You could alo try landmark in the forum mall, they do have a good collection of dvd's..more commercial films though.

If you are coming to Delhi let me know, all his movies are available here. Do see his films like Charulata, Ghor e baire, Agantook & Jalsaghar.

I'm sure Planet M on MG Road can order you one, they may even have one in stock? They had DVDs along with music at that store when I was there.

Actually all the Ray films have recently been recently re-released on DVD. I forget which company has done this, but you can pay and arm and a leg for a copy (and its a brand new restored print edition that looks beautiful) on amazon.com

The Amazon prices are ridiculously inflated.

You can get all the ray DVDs in Music World Outlets in Kolkata - I think they have an outlet in Bangaluru too - try ordering with them

Try National Market in Majestic area, pretty safe bet for just about any film ever produced, ok it will be a copy but a good copy!

I have no idea about the copy DVD scene in Bangalore, but normally in most oher cities these "copy DVD sellers" tend to focus on popular films rather than classics.

Wonder if they offer a warranty on goods sold or if they do give anything in writing, either.
